For Jessica Vlkojan, helping people has always been at the heart of what she does.
Throughout her career, Jessica has built a diverse background in banking, compliance, operations, leadership, and financial services. While her roles have changed over the years, one thing has remained consistent: she is happiest when she is working with people, solving problems, and helping make something feel a little less overwhelming.
Today, Jessica is part of the team at Poirier Financial Strategies, where she works with individuals, families, and business owners to better understand their needs, explore their options, and put protection in place for the people and things that matter most to them. She believes conversations about finances and insurance shouldn't feel intimidating or transactional. They should feel comfortable, genuine, and centered around real life.
Jessica's approach begins with listening. She wants to know the person behind the policy—what matters to them, what they're working toward, what keeps them up at night, and who they're working so hard to protect. She especially enjoys helping clients understand their options in plain language so they can make informed decisions with confidence.
Deeply connected to the community she calls home, Jessica is actively involved in organizations throughout the region and serves as an elected member of the Prince George County School Board and as a member of the Hopewell-Prince George Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Her community involvement reflects the same philosophy she brings to her work: relationships matter, people deserve to be heard, and sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is simply show up and help.
Prince George isn't just where Jessica serves—it's home. Jessica and her husband, Scooter, were both born and raised in Prince George and continue to call the community home today. They have been married for 18 years and have two daughters, Karlee, 16, and Baylee, 13. As a family, much of their life revolves around softball, with both girls playing year-round. When Jessica isn't at the office or out in the community, there's a pretty good chance you'll find her at a ball field cheering from the sidelines.
At Poirier Financial Strategies, Jessica is proud to be part of a team that values relationships long after the paperwork is complete. For her, this work isn't about selling a product—it's about being someone clients know they can call when life changes, questions come up, or they simply need help figuring out what comes next.
